That growth thing has really been on my mind lately. It's a tricky balance -- on one hand, you need to be specialized in your field to have long-term security, and that takes time/effort. But once you've got specialized skills at an expert level, the opportunities narrow and get more niche, making it hard to really pivot to an entirely new field, especially at an entry-level salary. In this job market, it's even more challenging. (I'm a longtime healthcare editor, and as AI takes over the field, it's scary.)

Thank you, this post really resonated with me: understanding that whilst financial freedom initially seems to be all about knowing exactly where we stand in monetary terms, in reality knowing that there’s so much we can’t define, control or predict about the future and fully accepting that gives more freedom than any spreadsheet ever can…
