I just wanted to say thank you. This post really hit home for me. Especialy Thing #6 because I've always struggled to share my vulnerable side with my friends. Thank you for taking the time to write these posts—they've made a real difference in how I think about life.

The Achilles heel point lands differently once you’ve sat across from leaders for a few decades. The ones who quietly signal “I don’t have this figured out either” are almost always the ones their teams trust fastest, not despite the admission, but because of it. What actually erodes trust is the performance of having no gaps. Most leadership burnout I’ve watched up close traces back to maintaining that performance long after it stopped being sustainable.
