Well said. I’d also argue many have this type of leverage pre-independence, they just rarely use it and/or think they need to wait.

Yes, there’s an argument for plowing through if you’re right at the threshold. But I tell people if your independence is 5+ years out (and you hate your job), then find ways to use that leverage NOW to make the journey more bearable (and maybe even more meaningful and fun). That type of work does exist.

I would agree! I especially see many young people looking for work that aligns with the lifestyle they want to live today, not just after achieving financial independence.
